Arnold Circus has undergone a sensitive restoration program. Briefly the works that were carried out consisted of:

Compost will be added to the top 450mm of topsoil to replenish the nutrients in the soil and a cellular stabilition system was installed within the planting beds to prevent soil erosion. As a company we have a history of heritage projects stretching back over 30 years. Currently we are approved contractors for many well known contractors such as The Apollo Group, Durkan’s, Gunite, and Balfour Beatty amongst others and are engaged in three Royal Parks amongst other works. Once again J Radford Group Ltd was involved with the refurbishment of an old run down Victorian building. In this instance we had to remove over 100 years of paint to 18,000M2 of internal brickwork.

Originally they were going to plaster the walls after they had been prepped with the grit blasting system, the architect was so impressed with the end result they decided to retain the brick facade as a main feature in the internal design.

With the clever placement of lighting the end results were astounding.

Here at J Radford Group, we are proud of the work we carry out, and put all of our expertise and dedication into every task. That’s why we wanted to share a case study with you, providing you with details of previous work to give you a better idea of how we operate and how we overcome the challenges presented to us on each individual job.

In this case study we’d like to share with you the processes we went through when working with a major UK property company that specialises in the commercial property construction industry. They are a top 100 construction company and employ over 2,000 people across the country, making them one of our most prestigious clients.

In December of last year our team was given the task of cleaning some of the newly refurbished student accommodation available in the West Midlands. Due to the nature of the work we were carrying out, we faced major health and safety issues, with our cleaning chemicals requiring careful and expert handling.

The busy nature of the site itself posed problems as some of the work required could not be carried out during normal working hours. This meant working into the night to ensure that the key tasks we were unable to perform in the daytime could be completed to bring the buildings up to standard.

We used a Doff combination when working at heights to get the best results. This involved using steam or hot water in combination with chemicals to remove staining and weathering from walls which were once caked in grime. These aged structures were brought back to life, showing off a range of hues in the brickwork.

Our teams worked day and night and in all kinds of weather to ensure this task was completed in time. Restrictions due to the location of the building made the work we carried out particularly difficult, but when working with chemicals in places that are accessible and nearby to the general public means that every care must be taken to ensure operations are carried out safely.

It took a full 6 weeks to carry out the work due to the obstacles presented in terms of days and times at which we were allowed perform certain high risk tasks, but our dedication and determination to get the job done – and to the highest standards – meant that we completed it on time and to the satisfaction of the client.

If you’d like to discuss your restoration, cleaning or conservation project with us, then please don’t hesitate to contact us today. Our professional team are on hand to offer advice and can talk you through our services to ensure you get the right result and finish for your building or premises.

Neilcott Construction is a long established construction company who operate premier contracting services for all manner of projects. Here at J Radford Group we were pleased to join forces with the Neilcott team to work with them on a recent project with our professional services; this particular project was based in London in Ryger House.

For this project, we were required to sandblast 'Torc' and then spray paint the steel columns with specialist intumescent 'Fire resistant' paint at this site to enable the project, which was a high-end residential development close to the Ritz Hotel in London. For the sandblasting we used the ‘Torc’ method which is effective in removing rust caused by the elements & ageing, and ensure the steels are prepared for the re-painting in fire proof paint. Throughout the project we had to liaise closely with Neilcott Construction to ensure the work was done to their specification.

The project itself took 4 weeks and was completed on-time and a satisfied client was the result! The site itself presented obstacles as neighbouring businesses and residents needed to be factored into the work. We were given guidelines to work with such as keeping noise & dust to an absolute minimum, to ensure as little disturbance as possible. The Weather was a particular problem, as it was very windy and had heavy rain, due to an open roofed site.

Once the project was underway, we had to work in conjunction with other trades on site, taking everyone’s Health & safety into consideration. Sections of the building had to be encapsulated, to allow other trades to continue with the work.

To speak to us about any current or forthcoming projects whether Torc ‘Sandblasting’ or Chemical cleaning get in touch today. We are happy to offer advice, and a site visit where required, to fully survey your site.

Project: Vehicle Refinishing

Client: Coloursonic

Description: The client needed vehicle refinishing services in time for an upcoming demo. The work took only 3 days due to the hard work and dedication of our team, meaning that we turned the project around in plenty of time for the client.

Here at J Radford Group, we not only offer our premier services for buildings – we also carry out work on vehicles too.

Many companies rely on the projection of their brand image via their vehicles, and nowhere was this more important than for the Maida Vale based company Coloursonic. Coloursonic are print specialists and have a range of high profile customers in film and television, as well as retail and corporate branding.

The request of the client was urgent: they needed vehicle refinishing services in time for an upcoming demo. The work took only 3 days due to the hard work and dedication of our team, meaning that we turned the project around in plenty of time for the client.

With a range of work needed, including blasting, repairs and repainting, each stage was undertaken with the greatest of care. One particular challenge we overcame on this unique project was to repair bullet holes in the top of the van, this was due to the van previously having been used in a film. However, knowing the deadline was looming for our client, we went the extra mile and faced this challenge head-on to get the best results.

The refinishing of the vehicles was done to a high spec and was achieved through the use of air paint spray techniques, with all the colours carefully selected and related to the client’s campaign.

So good was our work, as well as our relationship with the client on this particular job, that they gave a glowing review, with company director Michaela Chandler having the following to say about us:

"I would like to thank J Radford Group, and your team, a pleasure to work with, took all the worry out of the job. Professionally handled and a great job. I will recommend you to everyone!!"

If you’d like to learn more about how our vehicle spray painting and refinishing services could benefit you and your company, then simply contact the team here at J Radford Group today. We strive to give all our customers complete satisfaction in our work, with our goal to give you the best refinishing results through professional steam cleaning and body finishing.
